Apply for Certification

DPA is involved with the certification of petroleum geologists, coal geologists and petroleum geophysicists with the improvement of all AAPG members' professional well-being.

Certification as a petroleum geologist (CPG), a coal geologist (CCG) or a petroleum geophysicist requires a special application and is not automatic with membership in AAPG. For more information regarding DPA membership.

Instructions: These applications are PDF-based electronic forms which are easily completed on your computer then submitted to the DPA Office via email. Please be aware that the forms require an e-signature which will include prompts for you to validate the signature. Simply follow the instructions and your signature will be stored as a record on your computer. It is advisable to print a copy of the completed application for your records before submitting it to the DPA Office.
